On the overcast afternoon of June 28, 2009, while fishing Alogonquin on the Potomac River, John caught 2 Smallmouth Bass.  The estimated water clarity was 6 inches - 1 foot while the water temperature was ? degrees.   The best success was in the afternoon on a does not apply tide and the best pattern was the lay down trees using a worm.
Notes: Got a couple bites on a spinnerbait. Caught one fish on a wacky worm. Caught the other on a spook. Got a few bites on a crank bait.

On the sunny evening of June 15, 2009, while fishing dam 5 to 4 on the Potomac River, Philip caught 10 Smallmouth Bass.  The estimated water clarity was 1-2 feet while the water temperature was 60 degrees.   The best success was in the evening on a does not apply tide and the best pattern was the points using a generic spinnerbait.
Notes: I used a small 1/4oz spinner bait with florescent yellow willow upper blade and round orange/red lower blade with multi color skirt. Med/slow steady retrieve keeping it deep as possible. Caught 10 bass, 5 of them over 15, and one just over 17. All caught in 4 locations in a 3 hour period. The next day I went back under cloudy conditions and at the main location they were gone although I caught 3 smaller ones. I had never had so many large bass hit the same spinner in such a short period before!

On the partly cloudy evening of April 21, 2009, while fishing Oxon Cove on the Potomac River, Howard caught 13 Largemouth Bass.  The estimated water clarity was 6 inches - 1 foot while the water temperature was 54 degrees.   The best success was in the evening on a mid-incoming tide and the best pattern was the other than listed using a Arky jig jig.
Notes: The Bass hit the jig fished very slow close to a downed tree. Fan cast the area until you bump into some type of cover( rocks, logs, etc.) they cast parallel to the cover and begin your retrieve.
