Submitted Dec 05, 2009 by Reel Bass Adventures: "The bass were ravenously feeding at the beginning of the week. We had over forty bass in just three hours of fishing along a main river ledge. The best bait was a Manns three inch avocado color Sting Ray grub rigged on a ¼ ounce ball head jig. Copious amounts of Smelly Jelly fish attractant were applied about every tenth cast. The fish were situated close to a waning grass bed along a rocky ledged that dropped into 14 to 18 feet of water. A couple of bass and two juvenile rockfish preferred a ½ ounce Crippled Herring spoon slowly hopped down the ledge. After the mid-week rains, conditions changed. The creeks were muddying quickly but the main river remained relatively clear. The bite was much more subdued on Friday with a Norman Deep Baby-N being our most productive bait. The Manns grub only caught a few bass." Water Temperature: 58 degrees; Water clarity: 2 feet plus. ...More Fishing Reports |
